Never answer unknown numbers. If it is a legit call they will leave a message. If you pick up and/or speak they are winning and you are vulnerable. They are up to no good.
Called my personal cell and called me by my first name and asked if I was there. I replied yes (I was not thinking, had to run to grab my phone from the other room) and as soon as I said yes, they hung up.
I tried to call the number back 10 times, always a busy signal.
I am worried they now have some confirmation of my voice saying yes to something I did not agree to.
Anyone else know who this caller actually is?
Quote:I am worried they now have some confirmation of my voice saying yes to something I did not agree to.The only reason a scammer would record your voice is to convince YOU that you agreed to something, but can't really use it for anything else that they couldn't have just said yes to themselves. I wouldn't be too worried about it, as long as you remember you didn't agree to something if they call back and try to convince you that you did.
[***] holes called and left no message. Blocked like all the rest. These criminals rob of us of a large part of what we pay for our phone service for. Chiselers and parasites the lot of them. Law enforcement and the phone companies could care less while these predators openly stalk the unwary and vulnerable.
