This is a collection agency. Be VERY CARFUL of them. This morning I received a call from someone claiming to be from Citizens Bank, saying that I was $1000.00 overdraft and needed more information. I hung up. I called the bank and they assured me the phone call was not from them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am trying to pay off some medical bills from when my wife passed away. By the way. It is illegal to get a bad credit raiting from medical bills. Every month I sent to all outstanding medical groups that I owe money to in the amount of $20.00. They must accept it, And never put medical bills on your credit card!!! They don't like it, but by law they must accept it on "good faith law" in trying to pay the medical bills.
Hate to tell you this--but it is not illegal for your credit to be dinged from medical bills. It should be, but it isn't:
Can Medical Bills Affect Credit Scores?
Medical bills can potentially be very costly and difficult to settle. Patients have to deal with doctor and hospital bills, plus it can involve health insurance providers who may lag when having to pay these bills. Typically, when that happens, the delinquent amounts are handed to collection agencies, which reflect a negative credit activity in the individual's credit report. This can indicate a high credit risk, thus generating a low credit score.
Even if delinquent amounts are paid and marked as such on a credit report, it is not erased from the report for 7 years, unless proven to be a factual error.
How Can a Medical Bill Affect My Credit?
While it certainly is not uncommon for medical collections to appear on people¿s credit reports, how it affects credit depends on a lender¿s discretion. Institutions vary as to how to deal with a person's medical bills.
In instances where you are attempting to finance or refinance a home loan, it depends on the mortgage company's underwriting criteria as to whether medical collections must be paid off as a stipulation for approval.
I got a call from them yesturday cause they called my Boyfriends phone.?? He told me about it and I called the number he gave me and they claim to be a lawfirm. First off my bill Has been sitting for 6 years secondly the ladys computer magically wouldnt work when I called then kept saying ill direct you to HIM. Whos HIM I kept asking and she wouldnt reply. They are just scam artist and if anyone has un paid bills you DO go thru your creditor NO one else. Expecally when they demand payment now and think its funny.
Not a collection - law firm. Do not have a right to practice in every state! So if you are out of they jurisdiction - this is illegal for them to call you.
