Received a call 04/15/2015 stated they were calling about my computer that they were with windows and said that my computer is in danger. They say they are Windows.
This number has been calling about 6 times a day for many days. Now that I know what it is, I am going to have some fun with them and keep them on the phone as long as possible. Thank you to everybody here for posting so I can mess with them.
Finally got to talk to these criminals that have called several times. Caller said they were 'Windows Support'.
I'm retired and easily amused, so I played along until I got bored - lasted 23 minutes this time.
They said I had 34 hacker files on my pc, and claimed to be from Microsoft in Redmond and wanted to help me.
They have a new twist - I use a Mac and in the past it has been fun having them try to talk me through the Windows menu while I explain that I am confused about the keys they are asking for. This time, they figured out I had a Mac rather quickly and asked me to open Safari and go to www.mypchelp.us where they would use the Mac service tools to show me my problem and 'team view' to help me. Never had them try to work a Mac before! Obviously I did not open anything to them.
When I got tired of the game I said my son usually takes care of my computer, and had seen him two days ago for dinner on mothers day - and asked him if he had visited his mother on mothers day - and he said yes. When I asked if his mother was in Mumbai too, he said yes - so I asked about Redmond and he said I had been transferred!
So I asked if his mother was proud that her son was a criminal scum ******* thief that stole from old folks over the internet.
Also suggested he try to get an honest job and stop building such horrible karma.
He finally hung up.
