Completely illegal call: SPOOFED number, ILLEGAL PRE-RECORDED MSG claiming to be calling about "the recent notice on your electric bill" and telling me to press one to be connected to a 'representative.' The SWITCH YOUR ELECTRIC PROVIDER SCAM. Only reason I answered was I was asleep and all alone in the house, still recovering from recent surgery & was expecting a call from that area code from a doc/hospital. As you said above, we have gotten a slew of these calls from all the 'usual' scams including FAKE 'charities' on top of your list. Block each & every one, but they change their numbers daily and try again. Even got 6 of these calls over just passed Thanksgiving Holiday weekend. ALL INDIA SCAMMERS/THIEVES.
We got a call again from this number today at 5:52 pm. This time it was blocked by our call blocker. I highly recommend such a device to avoid these nuisances. Please see my post of 14 Sep 2016.
