Got a call from Brittany who said she was with NR Associations and had an account with my name on it and wanted to verify it was my account and gave me the last four numbers of a social security number.  I told her that wasn't me and I'd like to know more about why she was calling and who NR Associations was since she was asking about SSN and talking about supposed accounts in my name.  She said privacy rules prevented her from telling me everything regarding the information she had.  I told her again that I was concerned as to the nature of the call and pointed out that privacy rules don't prevent her from telling me about who she works for.  She then asked to confirm an address under a different name from mine (Tina and same last name as mine, but someone I don't know) and I told her I wasn't comfortable answering questions from someone who seemed to be so coy about the reason for the call.  At that point, she became somewhat testy and repeatedly told me they must have a wrong number.  I tried to point out that this was not just a wrong number--they called my number, knew my name and claimed there was an account with my name on it. She was talking over me and ended with a final "we must have a wrong number, have a nice day" (not in a nice day tone) then hung up.
