Called me 4 days ago, and because I live in 804, I stupidly answered. The very live sounding womans voice said "Hello, then the sound of fumbling, " I had to adjust my headset" Im calling because you recently visited a resort, thinking she was thrre, I luckily said NO, NEVER, and hung up realizing it was a very well done recording. Glad she didn't say can you hear me, as I might hsve goven them the yes they were trying to get. I nirnally report right awsy, but was on the wsy to a play my 6 yo nephew was in, and was just reminded by yet another scam csll I just received. It seems thst the Richmond Va area has become a bastion of these scam callers. Please beware of any unkniwn numbers, and definitely one's from area code "804" ! I wish the Government would crack down on these criminals, they could, but it doesn't seem to be a priority, and the dnc list is not much help.
Peace, and don't answer unkniwn callers. I slipped thiz time, not again rhough!!!
Called while I was at work but fortunately I'd already blocked it. The same number called my work today and hung up when I answered with company name. I'm now reporting it to FCC.
Have received calls from this number and others with different last digits over the past couple of weeks. Once answered to hear the recording that sounded as if someone might have delayed due to head set issues. The recording then began and wasn't responsive to my resistance. Hung up and blocked. Will have to block several it seems.
Recorded message "can you hear me" scam: "The “can you hear me” con is actually a variation on earlier scams aimed at getting the victim to say the word “yes” in a phone conversation. That affirmative response is recorded by the fraudster and used to authorize unwanted charges on a phone or utility bill or on a purloined credit card." http://www.cbsnews.com/news/beware-new-can-you-hear-me-scam/
