It's Verizon calling to tell you to pay your bill. I was travelling for work and forgot to pay my bill so I just paid it. It IS pretty frustrating though that they don't leave any messages or anything. However they also texted me, that's how I know this is Verizon.
This is fraud, I called it from a Landline and I pressed 0 to get to an operator and it won't let me. It even said to call back at our toll free number at 832-266-1173...when did 832 became a toll free number?
If you have Verizon for both your cell and land line service, the billing for each may be (and as far as I know, customarily is) handled separately. If you have been using paperless billing for your cell phone and a paper bill for the land line, and you swap carriers on the cell, the emails reminding you to pay Verizon will stop. We had gotten into the habit of paying for both services when the cell bill email came in, filing the paper bills unopened, and not looking at them until tax time (we have a home business, and the land line is an expense there). So when we swapped away from Verizon for the cells, the person paying the bills (who wasn't the one filing the paper ones) stopped getting reminded to pay Verizon... You can see where that went. Anyway, if you're with Verizon for both land line and cell service, it's probably a good idea to know about the fact that the separate billings mean that you have to set up paperless billing on *both* sides if you want to make sure you get a reminder. Happily, we figured out what was going on before they got annoyed enough to cut us off.
Keep getting calls from these numbers :832-266-1173, 832-266-1205 and several more. Verizon collection...the problem, I am not the person they are looking for and I have never had Verizon. They refuse to remove my number.
Got a call from this number. Lady had heavy hispanic voice and I couldn't understand and what she was saying only that I had to give m y credit card number to her for an amount that didn't match my bill and I know my bill is all paid up in full. Told her that I would stop by the verizon store in the morning and pay it but she said that tomorrow morning was too late. She was upset that I would not give her the credit card number. I don't pay with a card, I pay in-store with cash. As she was hanging up she said "then just go to AT&T"
