These people were calling me everyday on the recorder. I called them back and told them to F*ck off in german. They were mumbling and said we are removing your number hahaha
I received one of these mysterious calls from Tom Jacobs this past Friday. I was out of town and the message was left on my home phone answering machine. The message was very vague, saying that it was in regards to a debt and that I need to call them back to resolve the issue. They did not ask for me or anyone else in my household by name and Mr. Jacobs did not give the name of the company he represents either. The only way I got the name of the company is by doing a search of the phone number on the computer. I have no debts so I am waiting to see what happens next. Within five days of the initial contact, a collection agency is required by law to send "written validation" to the party concerned. Come five days from this past Friday (initial contact) I expect to receive a "written validation" of whatever debt they say I owe. If I don't receive it, I may have to file a suit in Federal or State Court against the collection agency for this violation of the law. A judge can award me up to $1000 for this violation. I may even send the collection agency a letter and harass them a bit.
I get the same calls all the time and I don't owe anyone. I figure if it were that important they would call themselves rather than a recording. They used to leave a message, now I don't get anything. It's really annoying to say the least and I have reported them to the Do Not Call Registry numerous times!
