Thanks for the tip. It took me several sessions to try wading through VZW Block Msg instructions, but having received 10 more msgs this week, I gave it another shot and have successfully blocked these fools. Well--I'm hoping I did!
These creeps keep sending me text messages to my cell phone in spanish. They used to Call and leave long-winded messages in Spanish and I blocked the #, so they are using SMS, sometimes as many as 11 (ELEVEN!!!) messages at one time. Newest messages (3) today at 11:06 am.

Thanks again for the tip. I guess it worked because I haven't gotten any more. Verizon's instructions are like something you're sure you don't want to step in, and it took a number of tries to get it right. Good to know because now I'm getting scam msgs from Bank of America and Wells Fargo--no accounts with either.
