Called me daily, I never answered and every time they left a blank, 5-second voicemail. Finally today I decided to answer, politely identifying myself with my answer. A couple seconds later an operator comes on and asks if she can speak to me. Irritated, I tell her that I am the person she is looking for. She then asks me if I remembered signing up for a million dollar sweepstakes a few weeks ago. When I said that I did not, she hung up.
Called me 3 times. Final time when I answered they asked if I had signed up for a sweepstakes, and I said yes. She said publisher clearing house and then she hung up
This message written by caregiver. Mr Reynolds has been entirely independent until this year so someone to assist in his safety is a difficult pill to swallow. He answers all of his calls but I am aware by family he is not able to discern who 5he scammers are. The day before he was on the verge of giving his credit card info. to "someone offering a great deal of money if he would help cash a check. Wanting to respect my client yet protect him I asked loudly to ensure the person I the other end of the line could hear who was speaking to just as Mr. Reynolds reached for the card. That person hung up immediately. That was a narrow escape so I blocked that phone line number before I left my duties.
This morning well before 8 a.m. the phone rang.I missed the start of the call but my concerned deepened with his end of the conversation. I picked up the extension and heard the drawing would be done this a.m. and her supervisor would call in 2 hours to share the drawing results. As he dressed for the day I researched this number to share the results with him. A BIG FAT SCAM. I asked if I could please answer the phone and permission granted. In two hours true to their word called back. Called them by name "Freedom Financial". "No" , I yelled out, " you may not speak to the gentleman spoken to earlier. We know you are a scammer, and you have been reported!" and they hung up!!!!! Beware.
