This harrassing collection company is attempting to collect a bogus debt claimed by a health club, Bally's Fitness.  My daughter had a month-to-month membership for less than one year, which they offered to her, with the promise she could stop anytime.  She ended it in July 2009.  They continued to bill and I paid the august statement, giving them a month leeway.  I spoke with them and they insisted she needed to give three months notice, but that is only for full members, not month-to-month memberships.  My credit card company agreed and continually blocked the new monthly charges, which also now included finance charges. Then my credit card expired and I received a new one. The company became aggressive claiming I changed credit cards while owing them money.  We first received a letter from this collection agency on June 25 threatening that my daughter (still a minor) will be placed in their national debtors file and in the clients delinquent file.  Somehow they got hold of our unlisted home telephone number (also on the Do Not Call Registry) and are now my daughter on her personal cell phone, claiming to be lawyers.  I googled the telephone number and there were many sites complaining about this harrassing company.  Also, if you google Bally's Fitness, thousands of options pop up entitled things like "Bally's Scam"

Me too .. Bally's.. the lady on the phone was rude.. especially when I told her that I never even stepped foot inside the club.. and that it was a month to month ( so I thought) contract.. also Bally's never gave me a copy of the contract b/c the printer was not working... I told em to cancel my membership..got the run around & changed my credit card. so now they want me to pay 500 bucks for the year they claim I signed on for. They also claimed to be an attorney & where going to garnish my wages.. I said .. See you in court.. stop calling me.

This is some loser who has about 4 worthless women working for him that call #'s at random and attempt to collect bogus debts.  They claim they are collecting for hospitals, fitness clubs, etc.  THIS IS A SCAM.  Do not return any phone calls.  Don't attempt to explain anything to them.  NEVER answer a number you don't recognize no matter how curious you are.  Worthless humans who pray on innocent people should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.  Unfortunately, they just reopen under a new name and begin to harrass and steal again.
