It's strange to me that they would even call to retain or recruit members. Last year, after being with them for almost 15 years, I called them in reference to some issues concerning my coverage. The person that I spoke with in customer service, had an attitude of not really caring about my issues. I got nothing more than a shoulder shug from her. There was certainly no effort to retain at the time or since then. And that was in the Tulsa Oklahoma main office. I went with my insurance company instead. Before I cancelled, I thought about it for about a week then sent them a letter. In the letter I did not state why I was cancelling, simply that I wanted to cancel and requested a refund on what ever was due. Not a single person called me nor was I contacted to even ask "WHY"? They lost 4 customers that day. Me and the wife's cancellation, and since my 2 kids got their AAA Gold membership renewed as a gift each year on their Birthdays, they lost them also since ole dad and mom picked up the tabs. I know that there are other AAA Offices throughout the nation who would have cared. But I wouldn't take a membership or even return their call in Tulsa if they gave it to me.
