I'm a police officer in the State of Maryland (specifically the Annapolis, MD area). Today I took a report from a person (I'll call him Mr. Doe) who received a phone call from 864-252-8542. Two different men, who identified themselves as agents with the IRS, told Mr. Doe that he owed almost $3000.00 in taxes to the IRS and if he did not pay it he would go to jail.
Fortunately Mr. Doe knew this phone call was a scam. The callers had Mr. Doe's name, address, and obviously his home phone number (this is information easily obtained from the Internet and White Pages).
IT IS A SCAM. DO NOT GIVE THESE THIEVES ANY MONEY OR YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION!!!!!
2 vm's today...caller, a woman who could barely speak English and said she was with the IRS, indicating I was the target of a very serious criminal investigation and that I should call immediately.
I received a message from this # 864-252-8542 he said I have allegation under my name and I owe money from IRS. Its an idiot man he got a poor English. Go to hell bustard...How can you feed your family with that money not belong to you??? Whatever you got from peoples money that's donation for u now!!!!Good luck and hope they will catch you what ur doing!!!!God is not sleeping and he knows you!!!
Got a call originating from same number telling that I have an arrest warrant for tax evasion?. The name of the alleged IRS employee is David Fisher. Please have the authorities investigating these scams.
