I just got a call from that number too and the person actually said out the name I use for my "junk" e-mail. The e-mail I sign in for clothing sites and stuff like that.
The person was a guy and like I think he was working with someone else 'cause he couldn't say the first name of my e-mail and he paused for a second and I could hear another person in the background (Guy) telling him how he thinks it should be pronounced.
But anyways, I hung up right away and they haven't called back...yet I suppose.
They just seem like prankers or something of the sort.... they can't be caller companies or anything like that because those companies usually have people that have good voices for the job. The person on the line seemed like an average person, older though.
But I'm thinking they must have gotten all our numbers from this site...
A friend of mine, last week, told me that Mystery Google is becoming more popular and someone had put her number in the search bar or whatever and since MG brings up the last search the person before you did, whoever came across her "number search" then that person had her number and basically she got a lot of prank calls.
I don't know, perhaps all our numbers have been put into MG... I know mine was as a prank my ex did to me.... and I'm pretty sure he put my e-mail in there too. So I'm guessing their just collecting all those numbers and using them as a prank.
That's my only explanation. I don't know how else they would have my number. I don't ever give it out to websites unless they're legit shopping ones.
