Just received a call, I get a lot of these calls that are listed with a city and state, this one was Greenwood, SC. I did not answer, and they did not leave a message. I will be blocking it through my cable company like I do all the others. So annoying though, I get at least 1 or two a day. I don't even write checks.
Im so tired of these people, i wish i knew the state they call from. they called my work phone from 864-396-5215 and my cell phone from 214-865-7083. Ms. Renee White, Im going to track this number and report the number from the state its calling from. They are TRG, BMG andn SRT group they cant make up there minds whicdh fraudulent company they want to be from.
Got two of these calls just today, about 2 1/2 hours apart.

As soon as I picked up the phone, a recording said "Charges have been filed against you in your county regarding check fraud. If you would like to speak to an agent, press 1". I spoke to a man who claimed he had no idea why my number was being called since it wasn't showing up in his computer system. He told me not to worry about it. I thanked him and hung up. A few minutes later I decided to double check, so I called the company back. I got the very same man on the line again. He asked me my name and checked it against his computer file. Of course my name never showed up. I asked him to check my brother's name since his is the name on our phone bill. The agent said he couldn't find anything on my brother, either. (Just as I figured). The agent said he couldn't find any reason for their company calling this number. He suggested that perhaps someone was using one of us for a reference and that's how the company got our phone number. I asked if they got our phone number from a reference, why isn't our number in your computer system? Why isn't it connected to a name or lead to the original person's name/number? I said how can they call us if our number isn't in your computer system??? He replied that he just didn't know the answers to any of my questions and was very sorry.
2 1/2 hours later the phone rings again, same recording. I called the company back and got the same guy I'd spoken with every time before. (What are the chances of THAT happening, huh?). He remembered me and I told him that we are on the "do not call" list and if they call again I will have no choice but to report them to our State Attorney General. The agent said that all he can do is put notes into his computer that this is the wrong number and that we are on the "Do Not Call" List. He said that's all he can do. He sounded very apologetic.
