Just a heads up. A friend of mine had his Charter internet, phone and tv hooked up last year. His home phone rang before he even gave it out to anyone, even his family when it rang. After answering it and talking withthe gentleman on the other end he asked him where and how he got his number. the gentleman was with the Local County Sheriff's Department collection donations for them. He told my friend his name and and all. He then asked him how he got the number and he told him that it was from a list that was sold to them from Charter of new customers. So even if you pay to have your number unlisted, Charter sells your number to make even more pocket change. I promise by this story it is true. They do sell your numbers listed or unlisted and your paying them for this service. Though a lot of numbers out there are already used numbers, even unlisted numbers are sold on a list when you activate yours. I, too, was furious, but hey, what cha;' going to do? Complain? And they will what? Do not a darn thing. If we want all of this kind mess to stop and lower our cable bills...cut... it....off.
