Called, said he was Cliff from the United States treasury. He asked me how I was doing this morning. And I said, "Fiiine." He went silent, then hung up. Could he possibly hear in my voice that I wasn't buying it?
Man with foreign accent requesting to talk to someone in our home, who happens to be our 10 yrs old daughter. Upon asking the reason why, the fellow disconnected the phone. It sounded like other individuals were in the vicinity placing calls as well. In any event, an uncomfortable call.
Received call from 917-117-1311 stating he was from the U.S. Treasury. Man had foreign accent. I stated that this sounds like a scam call and that I use to work for the Federal Government (which is true in a military capacity). He then hung up. I redialed the telephone number to verify if it was a government number and Verizon said please check the number and redial again.
I just received a call from 917-117-1311. It came up as being from "JAN", as if it were saved in my contacts. I have no JAN in my contacts. The foreign caller stated that my computer security had been compromised. I then yelled into the phone "SCAM SCAM SCAM...STOP SCAMMING PEOPLE...STOP SCAMMING PEOPLE"...then I hung up
I have been getting a lot of these calls. This was the third one but the other two were different numbers yet same thing. They say i get a 9000 grant i do not have to pay back. i am of the 1500 people picked for this that do not have anything bad on their record including bankruptcy which i did almost a decade ago. i said well now i know its a fraud because i did do bankruptcy before and then he starting cursing at me lol. Watch out there is a list of numbers doing this and they have 4 or 5 different scams going on right now. one even tried to do the option select to lower interest on credit cards without closing it.
