Just received a call from 917-285-7049 I don't answer no ID. They left a voice mail the only name I understood was the first which was Jim said he was from some government agency and gave me a file number etc. If it was the government they would send you a letter not call and leave a message. I deleted message.
I got two calls from a foreign guy named Jim with what sounds like a middle eastern accent from 917-285-7049. Left a message saying he were with the federal department of tax administration in New York and said we had a case against us. He didn't mention our names or our address. When I answered, no one was on the line. This was just a recorded message, further indicating this was a scam.
My husband received a call form this same number saying the same things, also stating they were going to send the police to remain home at an address we don't live at. My husband replied "send them" so the hung up on him. Trying to get tax money. We don't own any taxes. We actually received a refund.
