I received the same thing just a few minutes ago from this same number stating the same thing. I look forward to see what they deliver to me. Can you tell us if anything was delivered?
I got a call from a blocked number leaving a voice mail saying I would be receiving certified document from them on Tuesday jan 5 between the hours of 3-5 and left this number for me to call back
ID themselves as "ACT". I asked 'em if they were debt collectors (which they are) and the guy I talked to denied it. Said they were an "outsourcing litigation company" (which is scammer double-talk for debt collector). They are debt collectors, no doubt.
This is a scam technique (calling you about non-existent documents hey are going to deliver) to scare you into calling them back so they can scare money out of you even more.
No legitimate process server calls you up in advance and tells you they are coming by. Ignore these people and do NOT call them back. Block their calls.
Not certain what "ACT" stands for. It might stand for anything.
Just because someone on the phone calling you says you owe a debt does not mean you actually owe it.
If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:
1. Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
2. Demand a debt validation letter by US mail. E-mail no good.
3. Do not pay the collection agent or anyone else a dime until the debt is validated
Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply ignore them and block their calls.
This is a scam. I called the number back and told them that my lawyer is doing an investigation because he felt that it was a scam as soon as I said this they asked me was I __ they had the first name correct but changed my last name, they then asked was my last four of my social some weird number, and they asked was my address some made up street in Brooklyn once I said no all info was incorrect they told me they had the wrong person and they were removing my number and I do not have to contact my lawyer anymore because it was a simple error on their end! Do not give these people any kind of information they are wanting you to correct it over the phone so that they can have access to your personal information
