Wanting some type of DOT information from my office line. Calling every day, and told each day not to call my office in Casper WY. To go through our corporate number, in FL, and a number given. Does not sound legitimate, and unauthorized for my local office.
I couldn't understand the caller's name and company because his accent was so thick, but he wanted to talk to human resources. I put him through to general HR voicemail since he didn't ask for a specific person.
Received a call from 917-444-7919, and a person with heavy (Asian) Indian accent who claimed to be calling for employment verification and representing "First Advantage". When I asked what First Advantage was, the call was disconnected. I immediately redialed the number and received a voice attendant announcing "Thank you for calling First Advantage" and was left with music-on-hold for more than 15 minutes while "your call will be answered shortly." No answer. I received a second call from the same number while I was on hold, and a different Indian came on asking the same question and refusing to answer the question "What is First Advantage?"
This is obviously an attempt at identity theft and you must hang up immediately or, better yet, don't answer the call and see if they leave a message.
