This person was phishing. He saod he couldn't read the name that was listed for a "Target" gift card. "I just can't read the name." I asked if he could spell out the letters- which he did. They were jumbles and nothing resembled my name. I aske the address and he gave an address on Erie. That too was way off. I told him I would file a police report and hung up.
Now they know I have answered a call.
The next call I got was from 847-787-3703... they said they were having computer problems and just hung up. Testing to see if I would answer, is my guess.
So I noted earlier today that i was receiving calls from 1-888-573-6967 and added them to the blocked list on my Verizon account... right after I did this I started getting calls from this number 917-522-2130 and am concerned that a can of worms has now been opened with regard to my cell number just being out there now. If I block this number and once again get another telemarketer call I will be changing my number. It's a nasty business out there to be scamming people out of their hard earned money. Karma will come full circle.
This phone call that I received told me they were with Publisher Clearing House and I won 1 million dollars for life. Ben Dixon told me I had won a gift package. They they started selling me magazines for about 20.00 a month. He then proceeded to give me over to his supervisor and as soon as I said I did not want the magazines she hung up on me abruptly. This is deffinetly a spam. I intend to call publisher clearing house to let them know that someone is using their name to scam people.
