SCAM! Who knows what they even wanted but a gentleman by the supposed name of William Smith called for an individual in our office. I asked him what company he was with and he said he was not with one, but that his cousin John Marsh (March?) was friends with our employee and gave him some documents that he needed to talk about. I knew it was a scam based on the information provided and he became agitated that I was asking him questions. When I put him on hold he of course hung up.
Beware off this scam they have to be reported so others do not fall for this sca this is a spoof number useing a voip trying to scare people into paying them don't belive a 1 word they say
Just called our business, asked for an employee. Noisy background, thick accent. I asked who's calling, he replied Alex Joe. I asked for the name of the company he's calling from, he replied California Medical Center. I asked the reason for the call, he replied he had documents for the employee. I said they would have to be mailed. He asked for the employee's email address, I replied they had to come via the US Postal service. I asked for his callback number, he replied he would tell me after I gave him the employee's email address. I told him no, he'd get the email address after he gave me his callback number. I told him we wouldn't be playing this game any more. He seemed genuinely surprised by that...and then he hung up.
I deal with losers like this everyday and shut them down. Hard.
Just got a call from "Dr. Brown" with a very heavy Indian accent asking for me. Since the caller ID said "private," I said nobody was here by that name. He kept asking for me and wouldn't say anything else except he was Dr. Brown and he's returning my call. What a freak show.
