This is a well known scam so do report it via the IRS website. Also, you are likely to receive more calls of this type from different numbers all over the place. Do not bother calling any numbers they give out in any messages. The IRS always uses the US Mail to contact taxpayers. Report other calls of this nature as well.
Left a message stating the IRS was going to sue me. I called the number , a recording said PLEASE wait while we contact your party. A gentleman a foreign accent came in the line and asked how can I help you. I said I wanted to know why I received the message stating the IRS was going to sue me. He said what's your names? I said is this really the IRS? He Saud yes this is really the IRS. I said what's your name and where are you located. He said I'm not giving you my name and you won't give me yours. I said let me speak to a supervisor because there have been a lot of scams going on. He said they are all busy then proceeded to tell me my name and address. I said you could have gotten that from anywhere I am a registered voter. I told him I was going to report him to the IRS if he didn't let me speak to someone above him. He said they are all solo busy. I told him this was a scam and I was blown king the number send me something in the mail since you have my address. I looked the number up on Google some foreign writing was the first search result then there was one stating it was a NY area code. I called the number back and the phone just rang and the voicemail said "The cellular phone you are trying to reach is nit available".... Seems strange to me

After blowing my phone up with messages I was being sued, returned call and a foreign man who couldn't speak English clearly asked if I received a message, and said he was Col. someone or other with the IRS. I told him he was crazy and hung up on him.
