After a 'robo-dialer' pause and beep - a pleasant woman came on line.
Standard pitch for 'we are a contractor just finishing some work in your area and can offer home improvement work at 30% off material and labor'.
Asked what company - she said 'Smart Construction'.
Asked where located - she said home office in San Francisco but she is calling from Walnut Creek branch.
I declined the offer and asked to be removed from call list - and she said she would do that.
Search for 'Smart Construction' turns up no company in San Francisco or Walnut Creek (several in southern CA).
Probably a 'lead generator' boiler room for some contractor.
