As noted, this is a SCAM from someone saying they are DP&L (dayton power and light). They tell you that you owe money and offer to take a payment through a credit card (which you generously provide) and they will even take your bank account information! Oh goody!
I logged onto my account after the call and noticed that my payment isn't even due for another 10 days and there is no past balance due.
I have filed a report with the Ohio Attorney General's office, which you can do online (google it) and suggest that you do the same if you want to stomp these scumbags out. No telling how much they have stolen from senior citizens and people who are just trying to keep their power on who don't know they don't owe money.
Probably DP&L Energy, a provider to DP&L. I do have an overdue balance so they called me this morning, but did not leave a message. If you look at your DP&L bill, you will see two amounts, the overall amount that you owe includes both your supplier and DP&L charges. The amount you are getting from these people is only the amount you owe them, which is less than your overall DP&L bill. DP&L charges are around $20.00 (for billing, line maintenance, etc) of your bill and the balance is actually forwarded by DP&L to the other company. There can be any one of several suppliers and if you didn't choose one you were randomly assigned one. A royal pain, but it is this way with both gas and electric suppliers now.
Dpl energy ... I called dpl as I keep getting calls from this number...Dpl said that if you go past on your bill with dpl energy a seperate entity from dpl they will call you immediately to get their money... Even if that's just 1 month past due...They don't care about the money you owe dpl just the money you owe them as your provider for electricity.
