This caller called just after noon and did not leave a message.  Legitimate callers will generally leave a message.  This is suspicious.

Cancer charity. Probably not legit.

I got a call from this number and when I said hello they hung up..I called back several times and it would ring. The person would answer and hang up

This person calls my elderly mother at least twice a day. When I answer the phone she calls me by my mother's name. When I tell her my mother cannot come to the phone, she hangs up, refusing to leave a message. This has repeatedly over the course of several days and is starting to feel quite harassing.

Another call from this number with the same behavior -- early 8 a.m. call with no message left.
