Called saying I was being sued and would have a 2 hour hold if I called (213) 267-0650. That number led to a man named "Jonathan Stearns" with Berg and Associates. Long story short they emailed me a word document (no legal document) as proof and could not even provide me with correct account information on the original account they were trying to collect payment on. I called the original company from 2009 trying to back track if it was a legitimate debt and could not do so.
Called claiming to have court summons for Berg and Associates. Apparently have no idea that it is against Federal Regulations to threaten prosecution over the telephone. Also quite obvious that statutes of limitations, do not apply to them. Forwarded to FYI and CPB.
Got a call from this number, and person claimed to be calling on behalf of LLS, "retained to deliver [my] legal documents and a failed attempt has already been made. To avoid any further legal issues" I would need to call today to firm paying for their services.
Apparently, this is a guise to imply that a legal court document/proceeding is involved. Untrue, of course...
A scammer called asking for this employee, saying that they are trying to serve her information from an attorney's office, gave the number to call back of 323-285-2290 which popped up as a scam. He called from 937-505-0092 said his name was Adam calling from LLS. Said he would call the attorney's office and have them place a 2 hour hold on processing the judgement? The number he called from also came up as a scam. They are a company trying to collect old debts. These kind of companies tries to call us too to get people to pay on old debts and re-open them. If it's past 7 years, don't bother, because they can't do a damn thing about it.
