This is a scam call supposedly from the IRS stating that there's an 'error on your tax return'. Looks like a pile of other people have received the same call. Don't fall for it! The IRS will contact you by mail before they call.
"Kelly Watson" left message about the same thing that everyone here got. Other than blocking them, is there anything we can do to make these types of calls stop?
Also received same message. Yes, it IS A SCAM. First IRS sends letters, and if they were to call they would announce your name. They can't because it's a SCAM! They DON'T KNOW YOUR NAME! They hope you are naive enough to call. If you do you'll really have problems. (3-23-2017)
I googled: IRS fraud call - and poke around the IRS web site and wound up making an on-line complaint to the Federal Trade Commission (FTS), requesting they disable the number. There really isn't a whole lot they can do...no actual suspect and no real crime unless people are defrauded. Then, if traced, the con-men (women) are likely outside the U.S. jurisdiction.
