Had call on voice mail that said I needed to call federal courthouse before I got arrested. Left his number then had the nerve to tell me to have a blessed day.
Called my home number twice today. The second time I figured I would play a game with them. I called them back, and sure enough they had my number and even my full name. Foreign accent of course, and gave me his name as Officer Dave Watson, and a case number "DC1060". He then said there was a "miscalculation" on my tax returns consisting of years 2010 through 2014 in the amount of $7,050.36 and was this something I did in error or on purpose.. I then was told there is a warrant out for me, my SS# will be blacklisted, etc., etc. No it was my turn. I told him I do not know how I could owe any back taxes, since I do not pay Federal income Taxes. He asked why I do not pay. My response...I'm handicapped. His response..."Oh, how long have you been handicapped"? I said, since birth. He then actually apologized and said he will have his supervisor review and take care of this mistake and then hung up. It's fun to play around with them on occasion.
Just called my house, I picked up but didn't say anything and the guys starts his con, with this is the IRS. Just hung up. People, the IRS won't call you, they will send you a letter first. If its important, they'll send you a registered letter. But they won't call you to get money.
It is a scam. Claim to be with the irs. I told them that they did not seem to understand that my job is a tax attorney and I knew they were scammers and if anyone wound up in jail it would be them. They have not called back.
