I asked the caller to remove my number from his call list. His response was a laugh and the word, "Whatever!" I added the number to my Webroot Blocked Number List.
I got a call from 1-951-216-0982 today and the guy said he was looking for a person with a last name he couldn't pronounce. I told him that this was not that household, and he said he could talk to me if I was the homeowner. He then said he was calling about walk-in showers and tubs and had someone in my area that could come out and give me a free estimate. He then asked if that sounded good and I told him that it sounded better if he would remove my number from his calling list. He then told me that could only happen if I removed it from the phone book. I said excuse me, and began a rant of how legitimate businesses have this obligation and that I was on the Do Not Call List (for all of the good that apparently does) and he hung up on me. I (outraged of course) called the number right back, and got a message stating that this number was not accepting calls at this time. The number showed up on my caller ID as a cell phone in CA. I would really like to know how to go about getting these scam artists (and others like them) to leave me the heck alone...
DNC list isn't working......like other Federal/Governmental department's rules and regulations. I'm in Texas getting calls from a CA telemarketer on "wireless" phone. Would it do any good to complain to their wireless provider?
In case you get this same call I just had my whole bathroom completely done. Walk in shower, new toilet, sink, medicine cabinet, flooring, AC register, new plaster walls and paint. Total price $6,300. So ask this guy what a total replacement would be and find out what a scam they are. And if they say they will finance you can bet your boots it will cost you.
