Don't waste your time. They called and I picked up and said there was a legal complaint against me (which was automated by the way). And I had to call another number. Hmm. Super sketch. There was no mention of their company name or who they were even trying to contact. Like I said, don't waste your time. I've had this happen before and I learned my lesson last time to not trust every phone number that calls and says a family member owes money. If someone you know owes money and you want to help, help them get their debt consolidated through a legit company, not over the phone with someone claiming they can help. Or talk to someone who is familiar with the legal laws.
they keep calling and say they have legal papers to serve on me and want to know if I will be home. They won't even verify my address or who the papers are from. I have been a certified paralegal for over 40 years and I know that when someone is coming to serve you they don't call ahead first and tell you they are coming. I believe this is a scam altogether
Person Called to say they had papers to serve me and wanted me to call a number to confirm when papers could be delivered. Person had no info about where papers were from or who from. He just kept pushing me to call this 800 number. I told him papers could be sent anytime cause there is always someone home but he still insisted I call to confirm and asked if why I didn't want any info I just said I'm not calling and I'll wait to find out when papers come. Then I hung up. I think it's some sort of weird scam . They called using my old last name too. Weird
Don't your time with this caller. IF there actually were papers to be sent, you would have an unannounced visit by a licensed server - they do NOT call ahead. Phone calls, emails, faxes & texts are not an official notification. Also - refusing to give company information is a violation of the FDCPA!!
