Not this again. Ms. Jones confused the seven year FCRA time limit for reporting of delinquent accounts to the credit bureaus with the highly variable Statutes of Limitations found in each State. No seven year SoL exists on any consumer debt

Time-Barred Debts: When Collectors Cannot Sue You for Unpaid Debts (Nolo)
Caller said they were a process server. said there was a pending law suit. I said since when do process servers call. i told them to bring it! they hung up! total scam trying to get money.
Didn't recognize number, caller left a 30 second voicemail (calling for my brother's name, strangely enough), with a reference #, contacting me "in reference to a complaint forwarded to their office"; need consent within 48 hours or firm will be forced to move forward without consent. No idea what they're talking about, never said an actual law firm name
I got the same thing yesterday. They called 3x and asked for me by my maiden name then called back and left another message with my current last name. Figured it was some sort of scam talking about a complaint. Never received anything in writing so I'm not too worried. Did they ever contact you again?
I also received a call and I called consumer affairs and filed a complaint. Once a debt reaches 7 years one is not liable for that debt. Never give out your information. This is a scam to collect money. Person who called identified himself as Michael Accordly.
