It's Cross Catholic Charities. However, they hang up if I don't answer by the second ring. While this is a legitimate charity, I feel if they don't give me a decent amount of time to get up and walk to the phone, they are eliminated from my list of donations. I'm sorry, but respect of your donors would be appreciated.
Called left no message. Apparently it is Cross International. I did give them money one time at a church that I attended many years ago, but I guess they kept me on some sort of a list. I used to get mailings from them, but I don't remember them calling me. It is a legit organization. That is the trouble with some organizations, once they have you on their list, it is hard to get off their list.
On the off chance that someone from Cross International reads these comments, you need to know that telephone solicitation is the most direct route to ruining your organization's reputation. It puts you in the same category as telemarketers, robocallers. and fake charities. Your standing as a legitimate ministry is imperiled with every number you call. Perhaps some of you who are Catholic will bring this to the attention of your Bishops.
I got a call from this number at 8:30 in the morning! We already donate monthly to Cross International. I guess they were calling to thank us, but they forgot to leave a message. ;-)
