Had a similar call from a Jim Sutherland from same phone number. He was super aggressive and rude to my team. Same playbook - private matter, buyer interest. He got super angry when me team refused to share my name/details.
This is a scam and this man Jim Sutherland is creepy. My boss said he could leave a msg and he got very upset. Said he was with General Equity and it was a very important Private Buyer Intent conversation he needed to have with her. Got upset and asked me my name like I was going to get in trouble. Sounds like he is a serial killer or freak.

Received a call from this number from Jim Southard, Very pronounced and deliberate to say it is spelled like south ending in ard. Said it was a private matter regarding mergers & acquisition. Didn't get angry but was very firm in his delivery trying to be intimidating.
Using the name GENERATIONAL EQ, the referenced number called my business line but hung up when VM answered. This is a one-man repair and service business, a sole proprietorship. Nobody expresses "intent to buy" concerning one-man businesses. The firms either terminate when the individual dies, or they pass within the family to the next generation. It's absurd that anyone would speak of mergers, acquisitions, and "intent to buy" in the same breath with a shop such as mine. Quite clearly a scam of some sort.
Same deal...Jim South ARD...(pay attention! he said when I repeated it back. Complete douche. Never heard of him and he is no one we do business with. Awful human being.
