Calls periodically and never leaves a message. From tv commericals, they provide diabetic supplies to medicare recipients. Yet, I don't know the legitimacy of the calls from this number. Google search for Arriva Medical does not list this number nor the vicinity affiliated with the number.
Here is the short version: Liberty Medical is no longer in the mail order medicare diabetes supplies business - bankruptcy. Arriva Medical has purchased this business and is reaching out to former customers. There are several articles regarding this. New changes with regard to medicare mail order supplies took effect July 1, 2013. The numbers that appear on my caller id are 954-660-2387 and 954-660-2388.
Received a call from these folks this morning. Short version - in this case this is not a scam.
We just switched over to Medicare Part D. The previous supplier of our diabetes testing materials does not supply testing materials under Part D. This is Part B coverage. We were switched over to Arriva Medical to get the testing supplies under Part B. There was some confusion on the part of both suppliers until I spoke with someone at each supplier who knew what they were talking about. All is well.
Received another call from this number which means I'm due for more testing supplies. Strange that I had never gotten any supplies from Arriva Medical in all these years, but now they apparently have some access to my records and always start calling about a week or so before my regular supplier sends my test strips and lancets. I'd like to know how they got my medical and personal information.
