Possible Sweepstakes Scam. A man called and mentioned a name of something like Frank Washington (poor phone quality, his voice was breaking up initially), saying he was representing some sort of American Sweepstakes, he said he would call back and hung up when I said his voice was breaking up. He called back quickly and could be heard clearly, he said I had won some sort of sweepstakes I had never recalled entering, and that I was going to get over 1 million dollars and a new Mercedes Benz car. The man had out of date information, mentioning an address I moved away from years ago, and making mention of a relative who he did not even get the relation right. (He said something stating he thought my recently deceased mother was an ex wife...) He asked some questions, some sent up red flags, like if I had a credit card (I said I had none), what time zone I was in (he mentioned he was in Florida), if I was over 65 years old (red flag), etc, who I would want to get the money if I died before I collected the winnings, etc. I did not sound exited (I've had similar calls before), and he made mention of it. When the caller got the point I was not some gullible fool, his tone of voice changed to a more rude tone, he insulted me, saying he thought I was a "(f word) Idiot", and he then hung up after I gave a 'neutral' response of 'huh'.
