Auto Warranty Scam. They called on a three year old car we leased and returned. When answering the call was obviously transferred to a call center (dead period between answering and the operator coming on). They immediately asked if I was who they were calling. I asked them who they were. They were offering a warranty on our last car. Once advising them it was leased and no longer with us they immediately hung up before I could finish the statement.
I was sleeping when this call came in so I couldn't see who was calling. Auto warranty on a 6 yr old vehicle. Was a real person and she got very rude when I told her I was not interested then she hung up. I am on the DNC list but it is a waste of time because telemarketers call all the time.
I received these call right after returning a lease. The calls are always about a warranty lapse on a car I no longer own. When I purchased my last car, I told the finance manager not to give my number to anyone for the use of solicitation. He said he doesn't, that the SOS gives out/sell names and telephone numbers. If this is true, I am very upset. If not, it's very coincidental that EVERY TIME I get a new vehicle, I start getting these annoying calls at work and on my cell.
