Just received a call from this number. The answering machine picked up - No message left but a long, high pitched squeal.....No name on caller ID. I live FAR from Oregon and have an unlisted number.
If you hit "Ignore" on your cell or can pick up/immediately hang up your land line, that will help to 'confuse' the robo-dialing computer as to whether your number is 'real' or not.
This has worked very well for my cell phone; I hardly ever get any calls on that one anymore.
Also, I don't have voice mail set up on it; so they can't leave messages, even if they try.
Unfortunately, that's not the case with my landline, which DOES have an answering machine. Don't get many messages left from the SPAMMERS, but I do get LOTS of calls. I pick up/hang up without answering/saying anything, when I can. It seems to help a little; I get less 'repeat' calls.
Strange thing........ I received a call from this number on my cell phone a few hours ago, and did not answer because I didn't recognize the number. I'm at work, and when I got back to my desk just now I saw the same missed call on my office phone. That's why I did a search online for the number. I have no idea why they would have both of my numbers..........
Got this call today on cell, did not answer, never do when call comes from those not in my contacts. Left no message. I can only block 6 phones numbers at a time, I have filled that up, never had so many calls I have had to block. I am on the Do Not Call registry, but I understand non profit charity and such can still call. If this keeps up, I am going to have to get a whole new phone number. But at least I don't have to answer, if they leave no message, assume it is someone wanting your money!!
