Something changed at Card Holder Services....this time I had to press "3" to get a rep. And then I was put in queue to wait for a rep!!!! The queue was 7 callers deep, and as I didn't intend to wait, I hung up. However; hanging up did not release the call. When I tried to call someone right after receiving the call from CHS....I was still on hold. I've been tracking calls from these guys for months now, and there has been a break of a whole month since my last call. As I said; something has changed. Last call was 06/25/12 @ 1730 EST. Prior to that, I had been receiving ~ 1 call per week. Here we go again!!!
I never answer these type of calls, because once you do, you're tagged as a "live" number and they'll sell your number to other illegal operations. They don't care if you ask to be taken off their list, in fact they like that you took the time to contact them. You're now a "good" number because you're a live body on the other end, and no matter what they say, they won't take you off their list, because you've shown you're a potential target they can bombard with calls. So, following up and talking to someone on their end, makes them try even harder to contact you, because you've made an effort to get in touch with them. You come across as interested, even if you're not. Your number is worth keeping, and/or selling for them...
On the other hand, if they get no response, they give up eventually, as it's not worth their time and effort if they're blocked or get a machine. They won't make money selling your number. Just like with anything, if you ignore them long enough, they'll go away.
They didn't leave a message, but came across the Caller ID as Lower Interest.
