I received a call from these people on my answering machine today. I've been on the no-call list since it began. The recording must start immediately because I've gotten many messages from them, and I can ID them because the first part of all their messages are cut off.
I keep getting these phone calls, too, with a pre-recorded message about lowering my credit card interest rates. (971 is an Oregon area code.) I usually just hang up, but the calls never end, and my telephone number is also on the national Do Not Call registry. So this time I pressed "1" to speak to a live person. I asked the man what bank he was representing, and he said no bank, but the company - Card Services - services all Visa and MasterCard credit cards. I believe it's likely a predatory lending company that, similar to non-bank mortgage lenders which helped to bring down the economy, is not subject to the same US federal regulations that banks are. I asked him to remove my telephone number from his call list. Hmph, we'll see if THAT actually happens.
In one day alone i have recieved over 14 of these types of calls, we own a bussiness and sometimes have the phone transferred to our cell phone when out on errands. I have came up with a real good idea to stop the scum spamers, i called my attorney generals office to complain and got some help so now i refer all the callers to the attorney generals office and lets see how long it takes before they get tired of all the bull crap calls and does something about them. i find recieveing there calls funny now, i've had a few call back and say it was atty generals office, i say i know and now they can find you to file charges against you, good luck with paying fines for calling someone on the do not call list.
Got a call from this number 10/6/11 and on the caller ID and it said PACTEL. Just got another call today from the same number and now the caller ID reads SKIP TEL. I let it go to voicemail both times and the 2nd time a message was left with no sound. I am now reporting the number to donotcall.gov since my number is registered.
