Seem to be a lot of calls coming from this area of the United States. I would assume the telemarketers have found a loophole in the Oregon State Laws. Now they are exploiting the situation. NOTICE: to the Oregon Lawmakers...Get your [***] together and shut this crap down. The rest of the United States is getting tired of these calls!
Best advice: If you don't recognize the number, don't answer the call!
Second best Advice: If you do not have the discipline not to answer...then have your air horn ready when you get a hold of a live telemarketer. Eventually, they'll get the message...(or bloody eardrums)
My Call;
Me: "Hello?"
Caller: " Hi, is Billy there? I'm trying to contact you about medical supplies"
Me: "No...? I think you have the wrong number."
Caller: Oh okay, when is a good time to call back.
Me: "..." (silence)
Caller: Sounds good, talk to you later!
I think it is a prank call because "Billy" did not have a last name. But, who knows? I've gotten it a couple times too.
When you get an unwanted or unexpected call such as this one (as I received this phone call too), press "6" WHILE they are still on your phone and this should prevent the caller from calling you again. Then promptly hang up.
i had received a call from this scam, they claim that they are from life alert! i pressed 1 to speak to a live person and when they picked up i proceeded to tell the individual that i am on the do not call list and i was reporting them to the registry and they hung up on me!
