Although on the National Do Not Call Registry, I just received nuisance call on my home phone from 971-220-1986. Nasty business! Recorded female voice saying this is "your Credit Card Service" and something about it being my "last chance" to something or other and wanting me to press certain phone buttons. I did nothing of the sort. Hung up and reported the number to NDNCR, but found this site afterward.
BTW, cannot register a complaint at Oregon Utilities Commission; their on line form requires my account number, etc. I'm in Florida. *sigh* I wish we had better ways to stop these creeps.
These people called me and would not identify their company simply getting very aggressive and saying "oh this is credit card services, a rep. of VISA, and then pushed "are you calling to get a lower rate"
I said NO and you're not to call us as we're on the national do not call list and she of course abruptly hung up.
I have learned that this call came from Pacific Telecommunications Group a utility in Oregan who makes illegal marketing calls in violation of the Federal Telemarking law.
