These people called me in Dec 2009 said they were ACH some collection agency in New York I live in Oregon. They claim in May of 2006 I went to someplace called Checks R Us and took out a payday loan.
Everytime I have talked to someone there they always conterdict the last person I talked to.
The last call I got over a month ago they said they wanted my address I asked what for they said they had the paperwork to send me from the check place that is out of business.
I called the next day to see what that call was about the women I spoke to her last name is Martinez or so she says.
I told her the same thing I was telling everyone else I had talked to there that I'm not paying a dime on this it is ID theft and the women began to yell at me and straight out said to me that I went to the check cashing place and cashed this check. I told her to F(#(% off and she said they were going to take me to court I told her please do that's what I want you to do.
That was the end of January and I haven't heard from them since but have turned them into the FTC and Consumer Protection Agency.
When I first spoke to the Martinez women she said my account was closed and that was why the check bounced she even said they tried to put the check through the day the loan was taken out and my account was closed. I have talked to the bank they have no records of them EVER trying to put anything through when they said they did.
I have now received two calls in the past two days from this mysterious outfit. Some stern-sounding guy says my name, and that, "You have been named as a person of interest. If you don't respond, actions will be taken without your notice." Meaning what?
I've been getting calls on my cell phone they never leave a message but when I called the number back a man answered ABA came up with a lot of stuff but nothing that fits my life. so I tried to looking up the number on line I found this web site. Thanks Guys now I know its a scam...
