I received a text message from this number this evening which said wells fargo bank alert your card has been deactivated please contact us at 5036889425. I suspected fraud right away but call my bank just to be sure and they said that they had definitely not contacted me.

I received the same thing last night but didn't contact my bank because I have never had a Wells Fargo bank account.

sent them back a message saying "[***] fraud" I'm going to drop a line to the local police's fraud agency

Yep me too!
Only way I can think of people getting my number is off craigslist, portland.

Same text -  "WELLS FARGO BANK ALERT: Your CARD has been DEACTIVATED. Please contact us at: 503-688-9247."
