caller claimed to be grandson voice not easily recognizable due to stitches in lips and face due to injuries in auto accident;he was in custody in Oklahoma City and only had 5 minutes to call. This call came from646-911-0208 a New York phone, and he. was facing charges that included drinking under the influence; his attorney would be contacting me about bail etc. by phone shortly.
A call did come from an individual claiming to be my grandson's attorney, by the time he called we had contacted the Oklahoma City Sheriffs office and learned that they had no one in custody using my grandson's name. We also checked and determined that the call originated. from a cell phone using an Oregon area code (971-533-7462) After a few. more minutes I told him to quit this prank. Personally I am furious that a human being would attempt to fleece grandparents, we are from a much kinder and. more giving period in our nations history. We have lived through depressions, pestilence, famine, many many Wars, and we have spread our great nation from sea to shinning sea always fighting our way to the top of the pile. We have tried to leave our children better off than we were so we extend our finances to help our neighbors, our friends and especially our family members in their hour of need and consequently we are more easily victimizes by the unscrupulous lazy members of our society. There is a power far greater than am I keeping score.
Got similar call several months ago, from some adult fool saying "Hello Grandma" My one grandson is 4 years old! I said "yeah, right" and hung up on him. Give me a break. I may be older, but I'm not senile.
He is going by Steve Harper as attorney for Jason Robert Harkey of Des Moines, Iowa.
Its a SCAM!!! He got my mother to believe her grandson was in a car accident and caused the other driver (pregnant girl) to lose her unborn child. He was in jail and sad and crying (to disguise voice) and she sent out $1,900.00 in a MoneyGram from Walmart!
My Opinion: Walmart and MoneyGram are also criminals for allowing their systems to be used for criminal purposes!!!!!!
