It's a recording -- but I opted IN for their questions because I knew what question #1 would likely be and I was correct. This is some home energy related scam, so the first question was, "DO YOU OWN YOUR HOME?" My answer was an automatic, "NO". Then it thanked me, and my participation was no longer necessary. Since they need to establish contact with the HOMEOWNER, my telephone number will not be bothered again in a theory that has served me well. Just a simple strategy to favor my position against repeated calls from the same caller. Had I said, "YES" truthfully to question #1 it would be off to the races with more of the same.
Left message on my answering machine something about lower my energy bill. Delete message and blocked number. Caller ID also displayed from Caldwell, NJ.
At present a sleazy solar panel huckster... if not more. Played along with the caller because I was in a playful mood. (< A rare event these days.) Allowed said buffoon to finish reading his long and boring script before asking any questions. I said that it sounded like a wonderful opportunity and that "I would recommend his plans to the landlord, because MY home at the shore has solar panels. Who out there could ever remotely have enough solar panels in their lives? Not me." He was shall I say somewhat annoyed by my creative response. While I surely wasted my time, it truly irked that creature as I flipped it around to waste HIS time.
