Got a call from this number. A woman with a heavy accent told me I was awarded a $7,000 grant. I asked her what I had to do, and she said a senior something would give me my details and confirmation #. I asked where she was calling from, and she hung up! I was purposely letting her speak, I knew it was a scam!
Claimed I won a grant of $7000.00 and if I wanted my $7000.00 I would have to pick it up in a form of money order or a transfer through my banking account. Certainly, procedures in lending money or "winning" a federal grant is not that easy, (is it)? Because I backed away from giving further personal information, I then was given a new # to call: 1(718)407-2014 and speak to a "Marc Harper" a Sr. Accountant along with a Confirmation #. Is this correct? Or is it a scam? Was asked of me to further look into (www.usagrants.org) if I had further questions. In addition, they knew my name and last name, they knew my address and telephone number, and asked for my age (date of birth). Scam?
Duh. You shouldn't have to even ask. There must be a lot of stupid people making it worth their while because these scammers just keep multiplying. Maybe there will be so many soon that all the stupid people will be scammed broke and they will have to go back to mugging people in the alleys of their home countries...
