A guy name MAHMOOD called and saying he is from bell Canada promotion department,
He offered to reduce my existing bell service bill by about $50.00 a month with a new added service as a free cell phone. He confirmed the address & date of birth then ased for SIN no. He was insisting it required to open new account for the promotional offer. I got suspicious so checked this number & saw all this is scam.
A guy named "eric" called saying that he was from Sunlife Financial selling life insurance. He knew our names and wanted to meet with us at home for a presentation. I wanted a contact number to write down in case I had to cancel appointment, he refused and insisted that he would call prior to meeting. I found this really weird and asked again for a contact number, and he hung up! Obviously a scam!!!
they called my bfs house and asked for his parents, i said they werent home and they started asking me who i was and how old i was, so i asked why they needed to know my age and what company there with and the guy kept saying tell me how old you are and then ill tell you who we are and what we are offering, and said no im not going to tell you and the guy kept asking why?, so i hung up on him.
Got a call from them today... my boyfriend answered. They asked for me, and quoted our address.
Claimed they were Sunlife Financial. Boy, they picked the wrong person to try to scam.
I WORK at Sunlife Financial, and know for sure that we do not insist to meet people at their home.
You come to us - we have offices where people can come in and build insurance plans.
BEWARE GUYS - this is a scam. I am definitely going to HR tomorrow. They said they`d come to my place tomorrow... well, hopefully the police will be meeting them.
