I received a call from someone pretending to be Anthony Moretto who is a real DEA officer. He told me to go to a website for a Chicago paper and see Anthony's photo. I was amused. He claimed I had ordered pharmaceuticals online and was facing felony charges. I had read about the scam so I played along. he told me if I put $500 on 8 = $4,000 on a local 7-11 scratch off cash cards and sent them by Fedex to him, the Judge would drop the charges. I pretended to be alarmed for some fun. I said I would get the cards but it would take time. He called 10 times pushing harder and harder. When I eventually told him I didn't order this drug and sorry, he tried to get less cards and got threatening. I told him his threats were a felony and no DEA agent would do this, he told me he was sending agents to my home to shoot me. I laughed and said I had recorded him and he hung up. If you get such a call, call the DEA hotline at Report Extortion Scam: 1-877-792-2873.. No DEA agent or officer would do this but its fun to humor them until they threaten your life...

Just got the same call.  He caused me to miss a boat tour with my family.  Wanted me to send him $500.  He said I was due in court Monday.  I asked him why I wasn't notified sooner.  When I refused to pay he said he said he was sending agents to my home.  I notified the DEA.

I had a call from "Anthony Marotta" while getting ready for church.  He had me in tears telling me things that only people close to me would know.  He threatened sending police to my home if I did not agree to work things out on the phone.  He wanted me to join a "Defender Relief Program" to clear my name for something that I did not do.  He convinced me that my ex-husband had done fraudulent things in my name. It wasn't until he started telling me to go to the nearest Wal-mart and get money to clear my name that I knew this was a scam. It is sad that people like "Anthony" exists and prey on human emotions and vunerability.  Please post if you get a call from this loser.  Hopefully, he will get stopped and serve his time.

What is scarry is the amount of personal information he had about me.  I realized it was a scam immediately and I didn't get his name.  Claimed to be "law enforcement" and when I said what law enforcement he said DEA and I had committed a felony and he was sending officers to my work and home.

Knew my home address and wifes name who he also threatened to "involve".

Our credit card was scanned recently and my e-mail account was hacked a while back so I guess that's how they got the personal information.  Waiting for the next call, don't know what to do, call DEA or local law enforcement.
