I just got a phone call from an East Indian guy claiming to be "Tech Support" (call from Terry Herwig 239 948-0869). I asked him what company he worked with and he said Tech Support for computers using Windows. I told him I wasn't having any computer issues and think this is a scam. I let him know I didn't want him to call me back.

I wonder how many calls I will get

When listening to the message from 202-239-1251, they actually say they are calling from "Internal Revenue ServiceS" (plural), not the Internal Revenue Service, which is the actual name of the government agency. The grammar used throughout the message by the computerized voice is incorrect as well. Do not return the call. According to irs.gov, taxpayers will always be contacted via U.S. Mail. Here is the info from irs.gov:
"If you get a phone call from someone claiming to be from the IRS, here’s what you should do:
If you know you owe taxes or you think you might owe taxes, call the IRS at 1.800.829.1040. The IRS employees at that line can help you with a payment issue, if there really is such an issue.
If you know you don’t owe taxes or have no reason to think that you owe any taxes (for example, you’ve never received a bill or the caller made some bogus threats as described above), then call and report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at 1.800.366.4484.
You can file a complaint using the FTC Complaint Assistant; choose “Other” and then “Imposter Scams.” If the complaint involves someone impersonating the IRS, include the words “IRS Telephone Scam” in the notes."

I have received a number of messages from this number requesting me to call the IRS about "an important matter".  They were all prerecorded messages that I ignored.  Today I received a message from (202)239-1251 saying that it was the IRS and they had filed a lawsuit against me.  EGADS... Someone needs to do something about all of these scammers.  About a month ago my ID was hacked through work, I am so fearful of the repercussions from this, which I am sure I haven't yet learned.  Seems like we can be held hostage by anyone and can't do a damned thing about it... so sick of being screwed.
